Student Leadership & FMIG Engagement
The Michigan Academy of Family Physicians (MAFP) supports medical student leadership through active involvement in Family Medicine Interest Groups (FMIGs). FMIGs serve as the primary connection point for students interested in family medicine—offering opportunities to build leadership skills, promote the specialty, and engage with physicians, residents, and peers across the state.
Through FMIG leadership, students strengthen communication with MAFP, represent family medicine on their campuses, and connect classmates to resources, events, and professional development opportunities.
