MAFP Signature EventsMichigan Family Medicine Advocacy Day - March 18, 2025Each year, Michigan Academy of Family Physicians and Michigan Association of Osteopathic Family Physicians invite family physicians, family medicine residents, and medical students to downtown Lansing in early spring to advocate for family medicine. Registration includes breakfast, lunch, and a morning advocacy seminar, followed by meetings with state legislators and their staff to discuss and share personal experiences related to legislative and policy issues impacting access to primary care, the family medicine practice environment, and the patient-physician relationship. Michigan Family Medicine Conference & Expo - July 18 - 20, 2025The annual continuing medical education and networking event, hosted by Michigan Academy of Family Physicians and Family Medicine Foundation of Michigan, for the family medicine community in Michigan. Premier keynote, general, and breakout sessions cover a broad variety of timely clinical, practice management, and advocacy topics; and the community-building functions are designed to bring members together, engage families, and facilitate fun. Michigan Future of Family Medicine Conference & Residency Connection - September 13, 2025This annual conference, hosted by Michigan Academy of Family Physicians and Family Medicine Foundation of Michigan, provides opportunities for medical students to explore the breadth and depth of the family medicine specialty. Highlights include discussions with family physicians and family medicine residency faculty; hands-on workshops for learning and practicing clinical procedures common in the family medicine outpatient setting; and two hours of dedicated time to connect with residency programs and other organizations that support medical students.
