As a family physician, you are a healthcare expert who legislators need and want to hear from as they make decisions impacting your patients (their constituents), your community, and the practice of medicine. If you are an expert or passionate about an issue or a specific bill being considered in the Michigan Legislature and would like to provide testimony during a committee hearing, or if you have an established relationship with an elected official, let us know.


Stay Informed: Join the AAFP Family Medicine Action Network

The Family Medicine Action Network unites family physicians to advance the specialty and improve U.S. healthcare policy. Every Academy member makes a difference. Join FMAN 


Speak Out

When it's important for local, state, or national policymakers to hear from family physicians, we may use the AAFP Legislative Action Center, "Speak Out." This platform allows you to quickly and easily email legislators about key issues.
