Thomas Wolff Thomas J. Wolff

Mr. Thomas Wolff retired from Medical Advantage Group (MAG) in 2019, after serving as vice president/senior director from 2006-2019 and as a consultant from 1997-2006. In these roles, he provided consulting and management services for MAG's independent practice association (IPA)/physician-hospital organization (PHO) clients; negotiated contracts with health plans; and developed strategies and tactics for cost-effectively managing risk contracts and pay-for-performance incentive programs. MAG works with IPAs and PHOs to improve clinical and financial outcomes.

Prior to joining MAG, Mr. Wolff was chief of political affairs and a consultant for the Michigan State Medical Society from 1989-1996; senior legislative attorney for the American Medical Association from 1982-1989; and assistant legal counsel at the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association from 1979-1982, where he drafted, analyzed, and negotiated contracts for computer hardware and software and other goods and services.

Mr. Wolff earned his Juris Doctor from DePaul University in 1979. He was elected to serve as a non-physician/non-MAFP member trustee on the FMFM Board in 2021.
