Samantha Huang, MD is a passionate advocate for community-driven healthcare and currently serves as Chief Resident at the MSU Family Medicine Residency. Dr. Huang recently relocated to Michigan and said is ready to immerse herself in the local medical landscape.

“I am eager to leverage my passion, experiences, and insights to help drive positive change, advance the field of family medicine, and ultimately improve healthcare outcomes for all Michiganders,” said Dr. Huang.

Having held leadership roles in various medical and academic organizations, Dr. Huang brings a wealth of experience in fostering community engagement and driving positive change. In her tenure as President of the Psychiatry Interest Group, she spearheaded outreach efforts to local middle schools, emphasizing the importance of mental health awareness from an early age. She also organized internal training sessions to equip members with crucial mental health first aid skills, showcasing her commitment to empowering peers in addressing mental health challenges.

In addition to her psychiatric advocacy, Dr. Huang has demonstrated a knack for building supportive communities within academic settings. As Vice President of Programming for Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association (APAMSA), she launched a mentorship program that creates a supportive environment for medical students.

Her passion for building communities and her adeptness at organizational leadership make Dr. Huang a valuable asset to the FMFM board.
