Robert Jackson, MD, MMM, FAAFP
Dr. Robert Jackson practices at Western Wayne Physicians in Allen Park, a private group family medicine practice he co-founded in 1996. He is affiliated with Beaumont Hospital and Medical Center in Dearborn and Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital in Wyandotte, where he has been actively involved throughout the years on numerous committees. He also served as chair of the department of family medicine at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital in 2003-2008. A 1982 graduate of Wayne State University School of Medicine, Dr. Jackson went on to complete family medicine residency at Oakwood Hospital and Medical Center (now Beaumont Health-Wayne), and then received his Master of Medical Management at the H. John Heinz School of Public Policy and Management, Carnegie-Mellon University in Pennsylvania. He has been in practice since 1985 and earned the AAFP Degree of Fellow in 2018. Dr. Jackson is a member of the American Medical Association, Michigan State Medical Society, Wayne County Medical Society, American College of Physician Executives, as well as American Academy of Family Physicians and Michigan Academy of Family Physicians. At MAFP, he served as the 2016-2017 Board president, as well as president-elect, vice president, treasurer, speaker, and most recently, an AAFP Delegate. He is currently a director at-large of the Family Medicine Political Action Committee Board of Directors, Secretary/Treasurer of the Family Medicine Foundation of Michigan Board of Directors, and a member of the Practice Management Committee. “I want to be part of an organization that advocates for me and my specialty. MAFP is worth the time as it helps family physicians serve our communities.” With more than 35 years of experience in successful practice expansion, technology adaptation, and quality improvement, Dr. Jackson led the formation of several independent primary care physician associations, one being Accountable Healthcare Advantage—a benchmark performing physician organization in southeast Michigan. He currently serves as medical director at Medical Advantage Group, where he has provided essential clinical insights and mentorship to physician leaders. |
