Integrating Medical Acupuncture into Clinical Practice

Acupuncture is a safe and effective treatment for a number of maladies for more than 3,000 years. This presentation will trace the history of acupuncture from its roots in China to present day evidence based medical acupuncture, which is now practiced exclusively by physicians. We will review the evidence supporting acupuncture’s effectiveness, demonstrate several basic protocols, outline the steps to becoming a medical acupuncturist, and discuss reimbursement strategies for this valuable therapeutic intervention.
