Mohamed A. Saiyed, MDMohamed A. Saiyed, MD, is a resident physician in his PGY-3 year at Central Michigan University (CMU) College of Medicine Family Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Saiyed is passionate about full-spectrum family medicine with a special emphasis on sports medicine. Dr. Saiyed is dedicated to helping individuals lead active and healthy lives, and his diverse interests span from preventative and holistic medicine to machine learning in healthcare. He's also interested in Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS), platelet-rich plasma therapy and healthcare management, leadership and consulting. During PGY-1 he created a sports medicine track for residents interested in musculoskeletal medicine or pursuing a fellowship in sports medicine as part of the AAFP Family Medicine Leads Emerging Leadership Institute. Dr. Saiyed earned the AAFP Foundation Family Medicine Leads Emerging Leader Best Project award in June 2022 and the AAFP Emerging Leader Institute scholarship in 2021- 2022. In addition to pioneering positive change across his residency program, Dr. Saiyed supported improving the healthcare system for primary care in Michigan while serving as a member of the delegation at Michigan Advocacy Day. He currently serves as the Resident Representative at the Saginaw County Medical Society. Dr. Saiyed said he hopes to give back to the Saginaw and Michigan communities by serving in a leadership role on the MAFP Board of Directors. "I would like to take this opportunity to represent Michigan at the Resident Congress and be an active member bringing change in the field of family medicine," Dr. Saiyed said. |
