Kari Beth Watts, DO, FAAFP is a family medicine physician and assistant professor at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine (WMed). She earned her doctor of osteopathic medicine from A.T. Still University and completed residency at the University of Illinois College of Medicine-Peoria Family Medicine Residency. Dr. Watts is a full-spectrum academic family physician and is deeply committed to health equity and advocacy for vulnerable populations. In 2024, she added an additional board certification in Addiction Medicine.

Dr. Watts has held numerous leadership and mentorship roles, including serving as associate program director the WMed Family Medicine Residency - Kalamazoo, co-director of the Core Family Medicine Clerkship and director of the Advanced Family Medicine Clerkship at the Department of Family & Community Medicine in Kalamazoo. Within these roles, she serves as a clinical preceptor at WMed Health Clinics, Family Health Center, and Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.

Dr. Watts is actively involved in leadership, medical education, mentoring residents and students, and presenting at conferences. Her dedication to improving healthcare access and addressing bias in medicine reflects her passion for advancing family medicine and supporting underserved communities.
