Jennifer AloffJennifer Aloff, MD, FAAFP

As a family physician for the past 20+ years at Midland Family Physicians, Dr. Jennifer Aloff says she finds great joy in building long-term relationships with her patients and serving those in the Midland community where she was raised. For Dr. Aloff, being a family physician is the perfect blend of science and the human touch.

A 1998 graduate of Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, she completed family medicine residency at MyMichigan Medical Center Midland. In 2001, she joined the independent group practice of her own personal family physician, where she assumed caring for his patients upon his retirement.

Today, Midland Family Physicians is a leader in Patient-Centered Medical Home principles, having been designated since 2012. Through PCMH designation and the commitment to maintaining certification, Dr. Aloff and her partners have created a culture of ongoing meaningful practice transformation and quality improvement. This positioned the practice for selection by Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to participate in the Comprehensive Primary Care Plus advanced track (track two).

A member of AAFP and MAFP since her first year of medical school, Dr. Aloff has held numerous leadership positions as a student, resident, and full-time physician, including on the AAFP Commission on Quality and Practice and the AAFP advisor to the American Medical Association/Specialty Society Relative Value Scale Update Committee (RUC), a position she believes is vital for advocating for the value of family medicine.

Dr. Aloff is skilled in parliamentary procedure and facilitating conversations, expertise she developed and honed as MAFP parliamentarian, chair of the National Conference of Family Medicine Residents, co-convener of the National Conference of Special Constituencies, resident member of the AAFP Board of Directors, president of MAFP, and chair of many state committees. It has been said of Dr. Aloff that she doesn’t just participate; she becomes a leader and key contributor and helps others do the same.

Whether nurturing the next generation of family physicians and healthcare team members by teaching as an adjunct clinical professor, working with third-year medical students during their family medicine rotation, or mentoring physician assistant students, Dr. Aloff demonstrates her ongoing commitment to the future of family medicine.

She currently serves on MAFP's Advocacy and Practice Management Committees, as well as on the Family Medicine Foundation of Michigan Board of Trustees. Outside of her practice and Academy service, Dr. Aloff is medical director at Aledade and VaxCare.
