Jennifer Aloff, MD, FAAFPAs a family physician for the past 20+ years at Midland Family Physicians, Dr. Jennifer Aloff says she finds great joy in building long-term relationships with her patients and serving those in the Midland community where she was raised. For Dr. Aloff, being a family physician is the perfect blend of science and the human touch. A 1998 Michigan State University College of Human Medicine graduate, she completed family medicine residency at MyMichigan Medical Center Midland. In 2001, she joined the independent group practice of her own personal family physician, where she assumed caring for his patients upon his retirement. Dr. Aloff and her clinical team have created a culture of ongoing meaningful practice transformation and quality improvement. Midland Family Physicians is a leader in Patient-Centered Medical Home principles, having been designated since 2012. In addition, her practice is committed to providing high-quality, cost-conscious care through participation in Medicare accountable care programs; MSSP from 2016 - 2022, and ACO REACH since 2023. A member of AAFP and MAFP since her first year of medical school, Dr. Aloff has held numerous leadership positions as a student, resident, and full-time physician, including on the AAFP Commission on Quality and Practice and since 2011 working with the AAFP team representing Family Medicine at the American Medical Association/Specialty Society Relative Value Scale Update Committee (RUC), a position she believes is vital for advocating for the value of family medicine. Dr. Aloff is skilled in parliamentary procedure and facilitating conversations, expertise she developed and honed as MAFP parliamentarian, chair of the National Conference of Family Medicine Residents, co-convener of the National Conference of Special Constituencies, resident member of the AAFP Board of Directors, president of MAFP, and chair of many state committees. It has been said of Dr. Aloff that she doesn’t just participate; she becomes a leader and key contributor and helps others do the same. Whether nurturing the next generation of family physicians and healthcare team members by teaching as an adjunct clinical professor, working with third-year medical students during their family medicine rotation, or mentoring physician assistant students, Dr. Aloff demonstrates her ongoing commitment to the future of family medicine. She currently serves on MAFP's Advocacy and Practice Management Committees, as well as the Family Medicine Foundation of Michigan Board of Trustees. Outside of her practice and Academy service, Dr. Aloff is a medical director at VaxCare and serves on the Boards of Directors for the Great Lakes Physician Organization, Physician Associates of Michigan, MidMichigan Health Network and serves as the Board chair for the Honest ACO of Michigan. |
