Christopher Allen Hopper, MD, MScPH, FAIHM
Dr. Christopher Allen Hopper is a dedicated family medicine physician with a passion for integrative and preventive medicine. He earned his medical degree from Wayne State University and a Master of Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Dr. Hopper completed his residency at Beaumont Hospital Wayne Family Medicine Residency, where he served as co-chief resident, overseeing the development and scheduling of 32 residents. He has an advanced certification in yoga therapy and completed a fellowship at the Academy of Integrative Health and Medicine. He also recently started providing acupuncture to his patients after completing a 300 hour course through Acumed.
Dr. Hopper is interested in procedure-based medicine, teaching, health advocacy and non-opioid based pain medicine.
As a physician at Western Wayne Family Physicians, Dr. Hopper provides inpatient and outpatient care. He is actively involved in leadership roles, including serving as board treasurer for Pacemaker International US, Inc. and as a Medical Advantage Accountable Care (ACO) representative for Medical Advantage. Fluent in multiple languages, Dr. Hopper is committed to advancing family medicine through advocacy, teaching, and community engagement.
“I would like to help contribute to answering the question of how to engage family medicine doctors across the state of Michigan, especially as we face many challenges, including declining insurance reimbursements, more tasks to meet regulatory requirements, and increasing demands on our time,” Dr. Hopper said. “I want to help take a step toward leadership in the Academy so that I can help shape and serve to develop the voice of family physicians in Michigan over time.”
