Amy Milewski, MD, MBA, FAAFP

Amy McKenzie, MD, MBADr. Amy McKenzie is the current associate chief medical officer and vice president of clinical partnerships at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. She has worked at BCBSM for the past nine years in a variety of other positions, including associate chief medical officer of provider engagement, medical director of provider engagement, medical director of value partnerships, associate medical director, and physician consultant supporting quality management and accreditation.

Prior to joining BCBSM, Dr. McKenzie practiced family medicine for 13 years. She is a graduate of Northeast Ohio Medical University, where she earned her Doctor of Medicine degree in 1997, and completed family medicine residency at Ascension St. John Providence in Southfield. She then went on to earn a Master's of Business Administration in healthcare administration/management at Isenberg School of Management, University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Dr. McKenzie achieved the AAFP Degree of Fellow in 2021 and was named to Crain's 2020 Notable Women in Health and Crain's 2021 Notable Rising Stars in Health Care.

She has volunteered on the FMFM Board of Trustees since 2014, serving as the 2016-2017 vice president and 2017-2018 president. Among her other volunteersim is serving on medical missions trips to El Salvador, providing disaster and humanitarian relief.

In 2021, Dr. McKenzie was appointed by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer for a three-year term to the State of Michigan Certificate of Need Commission (CON), where she serves as chair. CON is a state regulatory program intended to balance the cost, quality, and access of Michigan's healthcare system.
