Michigan Family Medicine Advocacy Day

Each year, Michigan Academy of Family Physicians and Michigan Association of Osteopathic Family Physicians invite family physicians, family medicine residents, and medical students to downtown Lansing in early spring to advocate for family medicine.

Registration includes breakfast, lunch, and a morning advocacy seminar, followed by meetings with state legislators and their staff to discuss and share personal experiences related to legislative and policy issues impacting access to primary care, the family medicine practice environment, and the patient-physician relationship.

Collectively, MAFP and MAOFP represent more than 4,500 family physicians and family physicians-in-training across the state.

Advocacy Day is held annually during Michigan Family Medicine Week.

This year's event will be held in Heritage Hall in the lower level of the Michigan Capitol Building.
