Michigan Family Medicine Research Day Recognizes Excellence, MAFP Members Win Awards

May 23 marked the 46th Michigan Family Medicine Research Day — an opportunity for researchers, practitioners, and trainees in family medicine, allied health professions and the behavioral sciences to come together in a collegiate atmosphere to learn and exchange ideas. 

Thank you to Wayne State University School of Medicine for hosting this year’s conference in collaboration with Family Medicine Foundation of Michigan and the family medicine departments at Central Michigan University College of Medicine, Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine, University of Michigan Medical School, and Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine. 

The day-long agenda featured various resident research presentations and a keynote address by Abdul El-Sayed, MD, DPhil, Director of Wayne County Department of Health, Human & Veteran Services, who presented "Patient Advocacy: Finessing change for those we serve." 

Congratulations to these MAFP members who were awarded first place in their respective categories during the event's award ceremony:
