Help Direct Federal Rural Health Funding – Survey Closes Sept. 22The Rural Health Transformation Program is part of H.R. 1, known as the One Big Beautiful Bill Act passed by Congress and signed into law July 4. The $50 billion grant program runs from Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 through FY 2030, with $10 billion allocated per year across 50 states. The goal is to increase access rural health professionals while improving outcomes for individuals living in rural communities. Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) is encouraging rural health professionals, community partners, Medicaid beneficiaries and residents to take the Rural Health Transformation Program Funding Priorities Survey. MDHHS wants to understand how this one-time grant may help increase and improve sustainability for rural health care. MDHHS will also focus on workforce challenges, recruitment, training, and retention – particularly in rural areas where challenges continue in maintaining a stable workforce. Finally, and most importantly, MDHHS will focus on how these opportunities can improve health outcomes and access for Medicaid beneficiaries and residents in rural communities. Please complete this survey by Monday, Sept 22.
